About Me

I’m Ambre Maurugeon, and I’m currently a second-year Game Programming student at IIM Digital School.

I’ve always been driven by a desire to bring joy to others by contributing to impactful projects behind the scenes. Passionate about both visual art and esports, I have two dreams that define my aspirations : One is to work on an artistic, groundbreaking project that challenges conventions and sparks deep reflection—a niche project I’d be proud to have in my career. The other is to contribute to a highly competitive game with a strong esports presence.

My fascination with the professional side of esports began in middle school, inspiring me to pursue a career in this field. In high school, I studied a mix of mathematics, social sciences, and arts.
I initially pursued Digital International Business at EMLV to work in event management, but I later discovered my true passion for programming. This realization led me to IIM Digital School, where I’ve built a solid foundation in programming with C#, C++ and Blueprint, as well as Unity and Unreal Engine.
I’ve worked on diverse projects such as Cheesy Cheese Please, a game jam project inspired by Papers Please. I also developed a creative mod of Snake in C#, where the goal is to lose as quickly as possible. Additionally, I created a narrative game that explores a real-world tragedy, blending elements of horror and social commentary.

I’m seeking a role that aligns with my passion for gameplay programming and interest in tools development.
I’m passionate about horror, particularly surrealist works like Kanoguti’s creations, as well as “cute on the surface, devious underneath” games like Petscop. I’m challenging die-and-retry games (I Wanna Be the Guy) and speedrun-focused titles like Trackmania. These projects resonate with my love for pushing boundaries and striving for perfection, both as a player and a developer.

Hobby

Visual Arts

Passionate about art since childhood, this sensitivity has always influenced my personal and professional journey. My choice to turn to programming in 2024 is also motivated by the desire to preserve the freedom of my artistic expression. Although less artistically active lately, I maintain a keen interest in the field. Art has developed in me qualities of open-mindedness, creativity and sensitivity, assets relevant to programming.

Regarding *tech art*, I have not yet had the opportunity to experience it concretely.  For the moment, I prefer to clearly distinguish my artistic activities from my work in programming, being often more interested in the technical and logical aspects than in the purely visual elements of development.
